The Corvette continued to charge ahead year after year with new improvements and added horsepower! The faux hood vents were removed, replaced by a trio of fender vents that more effectively reduced engine heat. The wheel covers were redesigned. New for 1965 was a 396ci/425hp big block that essentially replaced the more expensive 327ci/375hp Fuel-Injected option, which was phased out the following year. Also new were standard 4-wheel disc brakes for added stopping power along with optional side-mounted exhaust systems. These enhancements made for a successful production year in Chevrolet showrooms with 23,564 Corvettes produced, of which only 8,186 were in coupe form!
Offered here is a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette L76 Coupe! It is refinished in Rally Red (originally FF- Nassau Blue) with a STD- Black Vinyl interior. It retains its original, number's matching L76 327ci V8 small block factory rated at 365 horsepower, 4-speed manual transmission, and AP-coded 4.11 Posi-Traction rear axle ratio! It went through a comprehensive body-on restoration in approximately 2015! Options include power-assisted disc brakes, power steering, power windows, rear window ventilator, upgraded AM/FM/Cassette radio with rear compartment speakers, power antenna, heater/defrost, and day/night rearview mirror, brand new 15” aluminum knock-off wheels wearing fresh 1” radial whitewall tires measuring 215/70R15.

More recently in 2021, the engine received a complete disassembly, cleaning, and full rebuild. The “double hump” heads were machined and treated to a full valve job, all new valve guides, springs, roller rockers, and hydraulic lifters. The block retains the stock pistons with new rings, upgraded hydraulic camshaft & cam bearings, all new main and rod bearings, stock crank, new oil pump, new Quick Fuel Technologies Brawler 650cfm carburetor with mechanical secondaries & electric choke, rebuilt water pump, new thermostat, chrome alternator, all new hoses & clamps, and gaskets throughout! A new Old Air Products air conditioning system was added during the engine-out process, adding to a more comfortable driving experience in the summer months. It operates extremely well!
The transmission was fully rebuilt with new synchros, resurfaced flywheel, scatter shield, Hurst short-throw shifter, and Centerforce clutch. It was also fitted with a full chambered exhaust system for a terrific sound! Today it has less than 100 miles driven since completion! The rubber suspension components, all brakes hoses and brake pads were all replaced within the last 5 years. Please feel free to call with questions, special requests, or to schedule a physical inspection! Thanks for looking!
