Having purchased a largely rust free 1955Chevy 210 body from Orlando owner Terry Demaintenon, it wentimmediately to Pro Street Customs, Inc. of Orlando, FL for thestart of a remarkable build. With no expense spared, and only topend components used, this car came with the feel of AmericanGraffiti meets Two Lane Blacktop and spawns offspring that requiredall the comforts of the world! Chevrolet 210 Custom Info: Restoredin true rotisserie fashion, the bodywork commenced to ensureabsolutely all rust was removed before it was mildly customized toremove all body side trim moldings, rear trunk lock, along with therear inner fender tubbed for a larger wheel/tire and firewallsmoothed. It would receive copious amounts of tedious hand sandingto ensure the application of high gloss Jet Black paint wouldresult in a mirror like finish! A task many body shops find rathertough to accomplish! With special attention to gaps and fitment,the body was test fitted to an all new Art Morrison supplied customchassis. It would feature tubular front control arms for anindependent front suspension, Aldan adjustable coil-over shocks,front anti-sway bar, power assisted Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes,narrowed 9 rear end with Strange 31-spline axles with 3.55Posi-Traction gearing, 4-link rear suspension with upper panhardbar, rack & pinion steering, and more! It would also come fullypowder-coated in gloss black before all new stainless steelhardware, fuel lines, and brakes lines installed and mated with thebody. The chassis was equipped early on to accept a monsterall-aluminum Merlin 540ci block and aluminum heads designed by BillGrumpy Jenkins! It would be built and assembled by C.R.E. Completed in approximately March of 2003,it would be finished with all new one-piece chrome bumpers tuckedtight against the body, a full custom Red & Black leather interiorincorporating the Black Widow spider embroidered into the seats,and rear trunk compartment. The padded dash holds instrumentationcomposed of Auto Meter gauges, and billet a/c ventilation. Thebillet center console is uniquely engraved with the classicHeartbeat of Chevrolet lines and American Graffiti script! Thedrivers seat features 8-way adjustment and the IDIDIT polishedsteering column features both tilt and telescopic comfort.
