1970 shasta compact 13 camper

Shasta trailers began their legacy in 1941 and were originally created to accommodate the military with mobile homes. Today Shasta still produces top quality recreational vehicles, but their prime time was from 1950 to 1980 when their vintage trailer models were the best-selling of the RV market. Shasta trailers were a favorite among campers and outdoor enthusiasts, and they were famous for their iconic wings that were mounted on the rear sides of the trailers along with classic stripes down the side. Continuing their vintage trailer line all the way up until 2004 where they would stop production and reappear years later with updated art deco interiors and feature all electric set ups.

The Shasta Compact Trailer model was first introduced in 1960s and was so popular that when the company came back later, they would honor it in 2015 by producing a limited amount of its restyled model the Shasta Airflyte. These compact trailers were a large hit because their lighter weight and sizes allowed for a wider variety of vehicles being able to tow them. The Shasta compact was marketed at a very affordable price, and with the trusted Shasta name, adventure seekers still knew they were getting the best quality around!

Offered here is a 1970 Shasta Compact Trailer with a clean White exterior finish, famous wings on the rear and a classic Tan stripe. The interior is finished with light wood cabinetry and the bench seats are covered in a plaid cloth. Options include a Coleman stove fueled by an exterior mounted propane tank, sink & faucet, bathroom with a toilet & shower head, mini fridge, bench seating that slides out to become double beds, bunk/storage space, floor-mounted air conditioning unit, mounted TV with DVD player, removable table, 3 storage cabinets, tilt-out shutter windows, trailer lights, and a spare measuring 175/80 R13. These compact trailers are the perfect fit for the tin can tourist measuring 13ft long, 6.5ft wide with an empty weight of only 1,125 pounds.

Shasta trailers remain highly sought after and collected by lovers of the vintage style and practical campers alike. Easily recognized by their wings, you can still find many older models being pulled along at campgrounds and RV rallies around the country. These compact trailers look even better in person, and this example is clean and presentable condition showing signs of weathering on the exterior, and an original patina throughout the interior. With the cost of new examples ever increasing, the modern-day weekender will find this one to have the perfect amount of space and comfort during short retreats at a fraction of those cost!
