1997 jeep wrangler

Previously sold at the St. Louis Car Museum is a wonderfully kept, 3 owner 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L Sport with only 106,000 miles on the odometer! This is a great 90s Wrangler that's ready to be enjoyed and equipped with tons of high dollar accessories, multiple top and door options, an excellent service history, as well as, a clean CarFax report! The market for Jeep examples, such as the one seen here, is on constant high alert.

The Jeep has grown in popularity over the years largely because the designers never lost focus to consumer requests. The early small scale CJ-5 was replaced by the CJ-7 providing more wheelbase and softer ride. The YJ-Series Wrangler was introduced in 1987 with a slightly wider wheel track and lower center of gravity aiding in further safely and comfort. Fast forward to 1997, and the TJ-Series Wrangler would hit showrooms with an improved coil spring suspension instead of traditional leaf springs, while still utilizing the favored live rigid axles, track bars, and anti-sway bars further improving road handling for people who enjoy driving them daily. Additionally, the TJ's found the classic round headlamps back at the front giving them a more classic appeal to the early adopters of original Jeeps dating back to the mid-1940's. A look that that has stayed consistent in the design ever since!

We were proud to pair this 1997 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L Sport 4x4 with it's new owner. A fantastic Wrangler example that is finished in factory code-correct Black Clear Coat with a Gray Mist cloth interior. Showing only 105,906 miles on the odometer, it is safe to say this example has only been enjoyed sparingly since new! Options on our available Wrangler include the 4.0L Inline 6 cylinder engine, 5-speed manual transmission, 4-wheel-drive, air conditioning, auxiliary hardtop, complete soft top, bikini top, full doors with roll up glass windows, half doors with side curtains, Pioneer Super Tuner CD radio with roll-bar speaker, fog lamps, all weather Jeep floor mats, under hood light, and more!

Further improvements include a Poison Spyder Rock Brawler front bumper with brush guard and matching rear bumper with integrated swing-away spare tire, tow hitch, and remote LED license plate relocation bracket. The original plastic fender flares have been replaced with much more rigid Poison Spyder DeFenders steel versions painted stain black to match the bumpers and tube step rocker rails. The front fenders have round, high intensity LED turn signals discreetly placed at the front. The polished alloy wheels wear 32x11.5R15LT BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires to really bring together a very aggressive presentation! Also fitted under the hood is a K&N Filtercharger cold air intake system with reusable filter.

Having just 3 recorded owners from new, the most recent owner has contributed service repairs to it on an as needed basis during her ownership. These include a recent engine oil/filter change as well as new Valvoline synthetic differential and transfer case fluids at 105,875 miles. A stainless steel muffler and aluminum tailpipe, brake lines and brake fluid flush, front sway bar link kit, serpentine accessory belt, front wheel alignment, and new wiper blades were all completed in 2019. All four Rancho RS5000 shocks were installed new in September 2017. Records from the second owner indicate the original clutch kit was replaced in 2001 at 63,187 miles, and the front brake pads/rotors and rear shoes replaced later that same year at 73,582 miles. This service history, along with the original owner's manuals, radio booklet, wheel key lock, and the various hardtop and soft top mounting hardware you see in our pictures were included with the sale.
