Highly optioned AMX with 390ci V8, 4-speed transmission, Go Package equipment with Twin Grip differential, factory air conditioning, power disc brakes, power steering, reclining seats, tilt column, and more! An awesome, rust free body receiving a high quality restoration!

The original sleeper winning pink slips on American main drags in 1968-69 was the American Motor Company 390 V8 AMX. Already famous in racing circles prior to its introduction in 1968 for 100 land speed records, the AMX was a potent and low-profile alternative to big-block rivals from GM, and in fact many notable racers jettisoned their more conventional domestic metal for the unprecedented performance of this AMC contender.

A terrific opportunity to own a 1968 AMC AMX Sport Coupe sporting a very well executed restoration. Finished in code correct 52A- Scarab Gold Metallic and 832A- code Tan interior with reclining front seats. Under the hood lies the original 390ci V8 still motivating this compact uni-body rocket down the road through a factory V-code4-speed Borg Warner close-ratio manual transmission and 3.15:1 Twin Grip limited slip differential! The paint was professionally refinished in base coat/clear coat fashion and remains gorgeous! The interior although still having much of its hard to find original parts has also been treated to new carpets, head liner, weather stripping, door panels, seat covers, by Legendary Interiors Inc.

All together this AMX looks fantastic! It features the Go Package Equipment option that incorporated power disc brakes, dual exhaust, heavy duty suspension, Magnum 500 styled steel wheels, Heavy Duty cooling system, ticker front sway bar, rear traction bars, and Twin Grip rear axle! Other options include the over-the-car racing stripes, original AM push-button radio, chrome engine dress up kit, rear bumper guards, remote drivers mirror, factory Weather Eye air conditioning, power steering, 3-point seat harnesses, leather wrapped steering wheel, Adjust-O-Tilt steering column, dash tachometer, and more! Under the hood, enhancements to a fully rebuilt engine include Offenhauser aluminum intake with Holley 600cfm carburetor, Hooker long tube headers, complete 3 Flowmaster Series 40 exhaust system with chrome tips, brand new Center force clutch kit, re-balanced driveshaft, Pertronix ignition, and more! It has tallied approximately 3,700 miles since completion! The gas tank was cleaned and sealed, fuel sender is new, all new front suspension & rear leaf springs, all new 4 piston front calipers & rotors, new tires, new battery, and more! And in the trunk, the original factory compact spare, American Motors Corp tire inflator, and lug wrench!

This very rare and very collectable AMX is a prime example of the car which gave pause to the big three and their ambitions for track and street dominance. A close inspection of this Texas owned example well prove it is rust free and possesses a superbly original body without any issues! A muscle car with some of the greatest market potential over the next decade, this extremely well optioned and highly desirable AMX 390Go Pack Sport Coupe will not escape the attentions of the knowledgeable enthusiast!
