1967 pontiac gto ho

Beautiful, factory High Output convertible! Fitted with power steering, power disc brakes, American Racing wheels, 4-speedtransmission with console, and upgraded Tri-Power carburetion! Outstanding triple black threat!!

Revered as one of the most popular and sought after Pontiac GTO's ever produced, the styling characteristics of the 1967 model came together in outstanding success! Subtle styling changes at the nose and rear end, along with all new engine options, allowed new showroom buyers something to get very excited about! One of these engine choices was a factory High Output option that included a performance carburetor &intake, 670 heads (or 997 heads on later engines), special high-lift camshaft, free-flow exhaust manifolds, 10.75:1compression to provide 360 horsepower and 438 lb. ft. of toque!

The St. Louis Car Museum is extremely excited to offer this factory ordered 1967 Pontiac GTO HO Convertible finished in Starlight Black with Black vinyl glass window convertible top and Black bucket seat interior. Equipment options include number's matching 400ci V8engine & close-ratio Muncie M20 4-speed manual transmission with center console, Safe-T-Track rear axle, power steering, power front disc brakes, Rally Gauges with dash tachometer, rare headrest seats, deluxe steering wheel with tilt column, reclining passenger seat, power folding top, pushbutton AM/FM radio with rear seat speaker, dual outside mirrors, foot pedal trim, carpeted floormats, and deluxe front/rear seatbelts!

This example hails originally from Vowinckel Pontiac based in Clarion, Pennsylvania selling new to R.D. Seigworth on December 8th, 1966. It comes with original owner's manual, warranty booklet with Protect-O-Plate still attached, top folding instructions, reproduction window sticker, and supporting PHS documentation. It made it way westward over time selling most recently to a Missoula, MT resident in October 2009 with 87,299 miles on the odometer. It was enjoyed for the first 3-4 years as-purchased adding some 10,000 miles to the odometer, but as with many collectors, enhancements ensued. A complete engine overhaul in 2013 by performance engine specialist, Bill Crosier of Crosier Kinetics, fully balanced & blueprinted it with forged Scat crankshaft, Scat 6.800 forged 4340 steel I-Beam connecting rods, forged ICON domed pistons modified to accept 14degree Pontiac valve angle, Crower hydraulic camshaft, and Pertronix Flame Thrower ignition. The factory block was hot-tanked, then bored .030 over, square decked, and plate honed before construction began. The stock 72cc "670" heads remain with complete valve job. The displacement now measures 434ci with 9.7 to 1compression to run optimally on premium pump gas. A fresh Clutchmaster heavy duty clutch kit was installed.

It has just under 1,000 miles on the engine ensuring it was properly broken in and tested. Visually stock in appearance to most onlookers, it is an unbelievable performer, and quick to provide ample power to the ground! Additional improvements include new aluminum radiator, heavy duty 7-blade cooling fan, manually operated electric cooling fan for summertime use, Doug's heavy flange long tube headers, aluminized 2.5" exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers with chrome tips, newly remanufactured GM intake with Tri-Power Rochester carburetion, new gas tank, fresh front end steering components with resealed power steering pump, new rear air shocks & springs, newfront brake rotors/pads, 15" American Racing Torque Thrust wheels measuring 15x7 up front & 15x8 at the rear, with 4-wheel alignment. Tires are BF Goodrich Radial T/A at 215/70R15 & 255/60R15respectively. The original rear axle 3.55 gear set is included with the sale, but it is now fitted with 4.11:1 for additional performance. With the engine and transmission out, the entire car was fully disassembled, stripped, and repainted professionally by House of Color Autobody, Inc. in Missoula, MT using 3 coats of Jet Black paint and 4 coats of clear.

The body is flawless, remarkably straight, with perfect gaps everywhere! A double red pinstripe was added to accent it nicely, and a single stripe to all four wheels enhancing it further! A new convertible top & boot cover top off a truly stunning car! It's ready to hit the streets in your neighborhood, and represents a remarkable number's matching GTO High Output convertible investment! Please feel free to call with any questions or to make an offer. Thanks for looking!
