The Corvette continued to charge ahead year after year with new improvements and added horsepower! Aesthetically, the faux hood vents were removed, replaced by a trio of fender vents that more effectively removed engine heat. The wheel covers were redesigned. New for 1965 was a 396ci/425hp big block that essentially replaced the more expensive 327ci/375hp fuel-injected option, which was phased out the following year due to low sales. Also new were standard 4-wheel disc brakes for added stopping power along with optional side-mounted exhaust systems. These enhancements made for a successful production year in Chevrolet showrooms with 23,564 Corvettes produced!
Offered here is a 1965 Chevrolet Corvette L76 Convertible! It is refinished in code correct FF- Nassau Blue with a 450B- White/Blue combination interior with complimenting White convertible top. It retains its original, number's matching L76 327ci V8 small block factory rated at 365 horsepower, M20 4-speed manual transmission, and AM-coded 3.36 Posi-Traction rear axle! It went through a comprehensive body-on restoration in between 2007-2010 that included a fully rebuilt engine & transmission, renewed suspension components, along with new exterior paint and interior upholstery! The results continue to show exceptionally well today. Options include factory air conditioning, tinted glass, power steering, AM/FM pushbutton radio with power antenna, heater/defrost, day/night rearview mirror, and Western Wheel 15” aluminum knock-off wheels fitted with Firestone Deluxe Champion 1” whitewall tires measuring 7.75-15”.
Engine cast code: 3758180
Engine cast date: B 3 5 (February 3rd, 1965)
Engine date stamp: F0309 HK (March 9th, 1965- 327ci/365hp with manual transmission & A/C)
Engine VIN stamp: 5114666
Transmission stamp: 5S114666
Transmission code: 3851325 (1964-1965 Muncie case)

These powerful engines were factory rated with 11.0:1 compression, mechanical lifters, high-lift camshaft, Winters aluminum intake, and Holley 4-barrel carburetors. With a tachometer rated with a 6,500rpm redline, they managed to produce a well-balanced 365 horsepower and 350 lb. ft of torque! This example is very special having a wide-ratio Muncie 4-speed transmission along with factory air conditioning! A very rare combination, especially in convertible form! According to production records, only 872 Corvette convertibles left the factory with air conditioning in 1965!
The odometer reads 4,733 miles and was believed to have been zero-timed after the 2010 restoration, although we were not provided any specific documentation. This Corvette will be sold mileage exempt for this reason. The former owner of the past 13 years replaced the aluminum radiator with a period-correct reproduction from Corvette Central in March 2012, and a new battery in July 2021. Otherwise, it was always properly maintained in a curated multi-car collection located in Quebec, Canada. It now has a clear, Missouri title and ready to find its next home. Please feel free to call with questions, special requests, or to schedule a physical inspection! Thanks for looking!
