The MGA is long hailed as one of British Motor Corporation best looking creations. With elegant curves that truly highlight this classy, English roadster, it has cemented itself in the collector car world as a must-have for driver enthusiasts! These MGAs feature independent front wishbone suspension with coil springs that provides a great handling automobile that is sure to be a pleasure to drive. The Mark II was the final iteration of the MGA with the 1962 model which came with a new 1622cc engine with revised combustion chamber, larger valves, and higher 8.9:1 compression. They are also easily distinguishable by their horizontal, oval taillights. Being the last year available, these cars remain a desirable model among collectors today; this example is no exception.
We are proud to offer this 1962 MGA MK II Roadster finished in British Racing Green with Black leather interior and a Black convertible top. This MGA is powered by its original 1622cc 4-cylinder engine (16GC-U-H-3876) with twin SU carburetors producing 90 horsepower and mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. Featuring Jaeger instrumentation, dual side fender mirrors, full size cabin tonneau cover, front disc brakes, and 48-spoke chrome wire spoke wheels wrapped in 155R15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires.
This MGA has 83,725 miles on the odometer and still has plenty of life left thanks to the good care it received over the years. The engine was fully rebuilt in 1982 and the rest of the car was restored by 1986. This was all done by previous owners in Pennsylvania and most recently added brand new tires in May of 2022 before selling the vehicle.
Once purchased by the Car Museum the steering rack boots were replaced along with new lower control arm bushings, oil cooler line, clutch slave cylinder, water pump, brake pads and engine mounts. This Mark II has also received an oil change, transmission flush, rear differential flush, and a brake flush assuring that everything is in working condition and road ready for this smooth handling MGA Roadster. Finishing it off is a brand new convertible soft top installed in November 2022.
It will come with a matching chrome wire spoke spare with a Michelin tire, jack & crank, Thor knock-off hammer, and side curtains for any wet weather you may encounter. Also included is restoration and service records back to 1982 along with the original driver's handbook.
