First introduced to the market in December 1927, the newly redesigned Ford Model A was soon to be one of the most best-selling cars around the world! Nearly two million Model A vehicles were sold in several variations by July of 1928! A huge feat accomplished by Henry Ford, and a testament to an automobile that will remain iconic forever!
We are delighted to offer this nut-and-bolt restored 1929 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup! Finished in beautifully applied Valley Green exterior with Black fenders accented perfectly with Straw Yellow wheels! The Brown interior is Lebaron Bonney Naugahyde with a Black vinyl convertible top. Power comes from its original February 1929 production 200.5 Inline 4-cylinder engine (*A1120930*) producing approximately 40 horsepower and 3-speed transmission. Features include Firestone 4.40-4.50 black wall tires, chrome hubcaps, Deluxe top frame with chrome bars, side-mounted spare tire with Black cover & rearview mirror, Ooh-ga style horn, beautiful pine wood bed with body-colored slats, upper bed rails & tailgate chain wraps, and 4-wheel mechanical drum brakes.
This attractive example received a body-off restoration that was completed in approximately 2002 by its former Clear Lake, IA owner with show-ready results! The original, factory steel body is stamped with date-code 2.23.29 and received new single stage exterior finish, fresh interior, removable convertible top, and all new cloth-covered wiring. It retains many early Model A attributes including vertical ribbed FORD headlight lenses, black radiator shroud, 2-blade fan, diamond-shaped dash bezel, correct round center bumper cap, straight headlight bar, and rear taillight mounted to the body versus the fender. The charging system now utilizes a more efficient 6-volt alternator today. It would sell on to a new owner in Trinidad, CA in 2006, before spending the past 14 years in a Florissant, CO collection.
Under the hood, the formerly rebuilt engine was recently treated to a fresh head gasket, new Champion spark plugs, water pump gasket, upper radiator hose & clamps, new engine oil, freshened fuel system with new carburetor needle & seat, new fuel shut-off valve, and 6-volt battery. This is a beautifully survived, all-steel example that is absolutely ready to be enjoyed and shown proudly! It continues to present extremely well and runs truly superb! It makes for an excellent Model A investment for the hard-to-find Roadster Pickup! NOTE: This vehicle is titled as a 1927 model year Ford. Please feel free to call with additional questions or schedule an appointment to view this Model A Roadster Pickup firsthand. Thanks for looking!
