History About Oldsmobile's 98 Model:
The third generation of Oldsmobile's flagship Ninety-Eight model series was introduced in 1949 with an advertising emphasis on the new “Futuramic” automatic transmission. With fresh style lines designed by Harley Earl himself, the Oldsmobile 98 also shared the same suspension configuration as the upscale Cadillac utilizing an independent front suspension with coil springs & shocks at all four corners to provide outstanding road manners. The Deluxe models took the already luxurious 98 to the next level with refined interior appointments for the passengers. Even today, it's hard to deny their classic shape and heavy use of chrome. Their polished stainless trim continues to draw an easy eye from onlookers when out on the road!
