1967 volkswagen beetle

We were proud to represent the sale of this 1967 Volkswagen Beetle with an outstanding ownership history, along with a full restoration in 1999 with beautiful results! This classic Volkswagen has been driven approximately 20,000 miles since and has been remarkably maintained. It comes wonderfully documented with service records dating back to new! A stunning car fitted with excellent, period accessories providing a true driving experience. We personally find '67 to be the best year to own a Beetle!

1967 Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle Background:
Largely introduced to the world after World War II, the Volkswagen Beetle has been one of the longest running, mass-production vehicles ever manufactured. Continually improved upon year after year, millions of buyers would find reasons to own what become affectionately known as the Bug at some point in their lifetime. By the 1960s, the Bug would truly hit its stride for Americans, and some would quickly point out the 1967 model year as one the finest version to own in your collection today. Improvements by this year include larger 1500cc engine, fully synchronized transmission, turn signal housings, front sway bar, reverse lights, an actual fuel gauge in the dash, 12-volt generator charging system, hydraulic steering dampener, interior door armrests, door lock knobs, 2-speed wipers, sealed beam headlamps with chrome bezels, Solex carburetion with a nelectric choke, along with a larger clutch & improved flywheel! Some one-year only attributes include the unique 1967 bumper over riders front & rear plated in chrome! 1967

About Our Previously Sold Volkswagen Type 1 Beetle:
We are very happy to have this 1967 Volkswagen Beetle finished in Mars Red over Black vinyl interior! Power comes from its original HO-coded 1500cc Horizontally-opposed 4 cylinder engine producing 53 horsepower through a 4-speed manual transmission!Features include 15 chrome steel wheels & hubcaps, Nexen radial tires measuring 165/80R15, dual outside chrome rear view mirrors,EMPI door sill protectors, interior door panel guards, reverse lights, and heat/defrost. Additional accessories include Foreign Concepts VW chrome roof rack with oak slates, wicker under dash storage shelf, and Retro Sound Classic AM/FM/AUX radio! This example comes with a remarkable ownership history known from new.Selling originally to William Herald of Nashville, TN, it remained in his possession until passing it on to his daughter. Prior to doing so, with approximately 150,000 miles on the odometer, the car was completely stripped to its bare foundation and fully restored from the ground up. Any rust in the body was removed, while installing all new floor pans, it was chemically dipped, metaletched, then epoxy primered before applying new base coat/clear coat paint in red. The engine was fully rebuilt, new clutch installed, all new suspension & braking components, along with fresh window seals, all new black interior, chrome trim & bumpers, and more! The daughter would maintain this Beetle regularly year after year, only adding 6,000 miles or so over the next 12 years ofownership. It would finally sell from this original Tennessee family in 2012 when St. Louis local, Bill Brady, would take over its meticulous care. Over the past 6 years, it received routine valve adjustments, oil changes, new shock absorbers, new exhaust system with chrome tips, heat exchanger, rebuilt carburetor, new ignition system, new starter, new steering box, motor mounts, new tires, upper & lower ball joints with tie rod ends! It was continued to be driven when weather allowed, adding approximately 15,000 miles during his 6 years of ownership! Today, it continues to show exceptionally well, with only a few criticisms to the cosmetics. Mechanical outstanding, it drives just excellent and will come with all original VW maintenance log book, past service records, workshop repair book, and extra keys! A remarkable example to say the least, and an instant hit for spectators on the road or at car shows!
