As with all previousyears, refinements and improvements were made. These included aheavy duty generator better equipped to supply power to moreinterior accessories that included an optional AM radio, slottedbumpers for a double-bar appearance, the addition of an engine oiltemperature regulator, ride control system for Quiet Comfort &Performance as listed in brochures, and a gas filler built into theleft, rear taillight assembly. The new 1101 Series offered 10 bodystyles on a sporty 136 chassis, but none more rare that the 2/4Passenger Rumble Seat Coupe! One of the hardest styles to find onthe open market, this presents a very unique opportunity for anyPackard collector! Packard Eight 1101 Info: Offered here is a 1934Packard Eight 1101 2/4 Rumble Seat Coupe. This wonderful frame uprestored Packard Eight 1101 was sourced from an Akron, OHcollection in nearly 100riginal condition in 2014. Although thatoriginal appearance was deceiving because the factory issued 320ciStraight 8 L-head engine (#376357) was already freshly overhauledto produce the factory rated 120 horsepower, the transmissionrebuilt with new clutch, new exhaust system installed, along withall new brake system, tires, and complete exhaust! It was ready totour, but this left us with the difficult task of completing atotal cosmetic restoration. Additional features and options includerear-mounted spare tire with steel cover, repainted wire spokewheels wrapped in Firestone 7.00-17 Gum-dipped High Speed blacksidewall tires, factory special-ordered Twelve Series headlamps &fender lamps, Goddess of Speed radiator mascot, cowl vent, kickpanel fresh air vents, tilt-out windshield, roll-down rear window, wheels trim rings, original dash instrumentation, and dual chromehorns. Upon arrival to St. Louis, we elected to facilitate a properreconditioning of the bodys exterior paint, replacing the entireinterior for new, and tackling the copious amounts of chrome to bere-plated professionally. We also had the complete main wiringharness replaced for good measure from Rhodes Island Wiring. Thisentire effort began with the body being completely disassembled, stripped bare of all components, trim, and body hardware. Afterminimal body work to repair small dents and freshen panel fitment,it was professionally repainted in Gloss Black by Donovan AutoBody. All reassembly was conducted by a local Packard expert andhistorian using all new hardware and body welting. While the bodywas being prepped and painted, all large chrome pieces were sent toCustom Plating Specialists based in Brillion, WI for preparationand triple plating. The smaller chrome pieces were done herelocally by St. Louis Plating Co. in similar fashion to save time.We also had the entire rear end rebuilt with fresh Timken bearings.Once assembly began, all rubber components, including runningboards, and weather stripping are brand new, all the glass wasreplaced, and the interior was expertly crafted by our very ownDanny Silvinsky using Hirsch-sourced Grand Red leather hides andmatching Bright Red Wilton carpets! The dash panel and door garnishmoldings were professionally refinished with correct, faux woodgraining with stunning results! And finally, the body washand-pinstriped in Vermillion Red to match the wheels by FitzingerGraphics. This seems to amount to a rather short list of items onpaper for an amazingly long list of projects completed! And wecouldnt be more pleased with the results! It should make for adelightful example to enjoy, show, drive, and tour with whileremaining a wonderful, hard to find investment. Please feel free tocall with questions or schedule a chance to review it in person!
