Whether it was Willys, then Kaiser, and after 1970 American Motors Corporation, the Jeep has been an American staple during wartime preparedness, or civilian off-road enjoyment! Once the AMC Jeep was in control, vast improvements were initiated to provide more creature comforts, not to mention safety. These included changes in 1972 forward with an AMC produced engines including a first-time offered 5.0L V8, fully boxed chassis stretched by 3 along with 6 cross members for added rigidity, gas tank moved to the rear between the frame rails, Trac-Loc differential, and more! This solid example has seen a full cosmetic restoration to include a repaint completed years ago in basecoat/clear code fashion using Ditzler/PPG paint, along with many upgrades to enhance the looks and performance. In addition to the ones already mentioned, you will find an Edelbrock Performer AMC aluminum intake with 4 barrel carburetor, mild cam upgrade, and exhaust headers under the hood. This allows for a chrome open-element air cleaner and true dual exhaust to help draw out some additional power. The suspension was enhanced with upgraded Rancho RS5000 shocks.

Upon arrival to the St. Louis Car Museum, it immediately received fresh engine oil & filter, new exhaust manifold gaskets with new mufflers, rebuilt steering box, new brake master cylinder, carburetor accelerator pump, new air filter element, spark plugs & plug wires, coil, and distributor cap, transfer case mount, coolant temp sensor, and a few other small improvements. We feel this is ready to be enjoyed for either on or off-road fun! With summer not far away, be ready to strip off the top, hang the doors in the garage, and enjoy some open air freedom Jeep lovers have come to love!
