Additional accessories include Ram Air ScoopPackage, power steering, Rally gauges with dash tachometer,upgraded 15" Rally I wheel wrapped in radial redline tires redlinetires measuring 225/70R15, Fisher Deluxe front seatbelts, day/nightrearview mirror, deluxe steering wheel, foot pedal trim, rubberfloor mats, and a newer Custom AutoSound AM/FM digital radio!Unique Special Equipment options on this GTO include Tri Power-onlyadd-ons: Heavy Duty 7-blade clutch fan and oversized Harrisonradiator, metallic brake linings, and close-ratio Muncie M21Close-Ratio manual transmission! Car Life magazine tested a nearlyidentically equipped GTO in 1965 with 0-60 times at 5.8 seconds,and mile romps at 14.5 seconds at 100mph! Fast, even by today'sstandards!! The body and chassis on this example are exceptionaland free of any rust concerns. We find no signs of repair orpatchwork anywhere. It did start life with a 389ci Tri-Powercarbureted engine, although the original block was replaced with alater generation 1969 date-coded 400ci with "48" heads during acomplete restoration in 2004. The factory issued 1965 intake &Rochester carburetors with identification tags, transmission, andrear axle all remain. It is nicely dressed with a chrome aircleaners & valve covers, GM tower clamps, inspection markings,Delco-Remy charging components, and more! Onlookers with behard-pressed to discover anything amiss under this hood. History ofthe car starts where it sold new to Mr. CJ Kunz of Godfrey, IL verylate in 1965. It later made its way to the Chicago area, on toMinnesota years later, and then back to Moscow Mills, Missouriresident Ronald Rogers who took the liberty of cosmeticallyrestoring a very worthy example back to original. It appears tohave been garage kept for most of its years of ownership andremains wonderfully rust free from a dry lifestyle. It retainsfactory window glass, body trim, perfect fitting body gaps, chromebumpers, grill, and rear taillight panel. Sadly, the previous ownerpasted away with a proud GTO collection that included a 1966 GTOConvertible, 1969 GTO Judge, and a highly optioned 1970 GTOConvertible, along with others. The St. Louis Car Museum hastaken the liberty of freshening this example with an all newexhaust system, complete ignition system (spark plugs, plug wires,cap, rotor, condenser, and timing adjustment), new brake fluid, newengine oil/filter, fuel filter, new foam carburetor air filters,oil pressure switch, oil temperature sensor, new valve covergaskets, new main carburetor accelerator pump, one front wheelbearing, both front wheel seals & lower ball joints, sway barbushings & end links, and a few other small items and detailingtouches. It continues to represent itself beautifully in allrespects as an honest original GTO, and drives down the roadexactly the same! Considering the true age of the restoration, itis quite remarkable! The rear trunk compartment is just as detailedwith floor mat, spare tire, jack and tire changing tools.
