Lincolns spiritual successor to the esteemed pre/post-war V12Continental was the Mark II. In an effort to branch off theContinental brand and take it upmarket, the car wore Lincolnemblems but no LINCOLN script. Instead, the car featured almostevery luxury feature imaginable as standard equipment, with onlyone option: air conditioning. Under the hood was a powerful 368civersion of Fords Y-Block mated to a smooth Turbo-Drive three-speedautomatic. The base price of these hand-built cars was around$10,000, which restricted admission into this exclusive Mark IIclub to only the wealthiest individuals, including Elvis, FrankSinatra, Elizabeth Taylor and the Shah of Iran. This gorgeous Mark IIwas previously restored in approximately 2000/2001 that included abare metal repaint while in Clearwater, FL while in the care ofLincoln Land, Inc. The fully reupholstered interior is remarkablewith the leather being sourced from the original Scottish leatherfirm Bridge of Weir! Lincoln Land also rebuilt the treadle vacsystem along with new vacuum hoses, installed new front & rearbrake shoes & brake cylinders, front brake hoses, new powersteering hoses, complete ignition tune-up, and an engine oilchange. The odometer reading at that time was 68,363 miles. Sincethis service, it has been meticulously maintained and alwaysgaraged while in a Germantown, TN collection! The transmissionreceived a complete overhaul in July 2003 at 71,046 miles by AAMCOTransmissions with new torque converter. Mechanically, the car runsdown the road beautifully, smooth and powerful!
More recently out of the Fort Worth, Texas area from 2004-2017, thecar received newer whitewall radial tires, shocks at all fourcorners, and rebuilt fuel pump. The A/C system was completely gonethrough by us to ensure functionality. This Mark II now shows whatis believed to be 71,688 actual miles, and traveled to the southernMissouri area to join a prominent, local collection. All powerfeatures continue to work including seat & window operation.
