Beautifully restored Imperial Convertible Sedan! Once part of theImperial Palace Collection in Las Vegas! Represents one of only113 examples ever produced, and one of very few known to existtoday! Excellent touring candidate! Act quickly! With a full newdesign, Chrysler Corporation Engineers claimed more than 84improvements to the 1938 model year. Naked to the eye would be alarger clutch, larger brakes & wheel bearings, stronger chassisoffering both more rigidity and a 4" longer wheelbase (125")providing a longer front hood, recessed headlights, new grilldesign, a reintroduction of an earlier used 298.7ci straight 8engine with host of modern improvements & extra horsepower, just tomention a few! A uniquely rare example would be the one year onlyproduction Murray-bodied Convertible Sedan. This unit is bodynumber 8 of only 113 produced! Just gorgeous! We are proud toshowcase this beautifully restored example finished in Pale Yellowover Red Leather interior with Black stayfast cloth top. Fittedwith its original, numbers matching 298.7ci Gold Seal L-Headstraight 8 engine (#C19-5164) with correct Stromberg Aerotypecarburetion, 3-speed floor-shifted manual transmission, and 3.91rear axle ratio. Features and options include rear fender shields,AM radio with running board antennas, locking glove box, Deluxebanjo steering wheel, clock, Super Airstream heater, cigarettelighter/ ash receiver tray, cowl vent, dual side-mounted spares, wheel hub covers with trim rings, dual outside rearview mirrors,Firestone Deluxe Champion 6.50-16 wide whitewall tires, freestanding wind wings, bumper guards, and more! Our example has beenin the caring hands of known collectors such as Tiny Gould andRichie Clyne of the Imperial Palace Collection in Las Vegas in thepast. More recently in approximately March 2000, this Chryslerreceived a complete body-off restoration to fully renew thedrivetrain mechanicals, all wiring, brakes, suspension, chrome, interior, window glass, convertible top, and more! The results arecertainly breathtaking! Finding one of these Chryslers on the openmarket is decidedly rare, and one in this condition, nearlyimpossible! One push of the starter button, you will hear theoriginal, factory issue engine purr to life without any hesitation. One trip around the block and you will be sold on the exclusivitythese cars provided their original owners! What a sincere pleasure! Our car shows only minimal wear to the driver's seat bottom, likelydue to mild use and access to the battery hidden underneath. Otherthan that, any patina is hard to find throughout the beautifulpaint, perfect convertible top, excellent bright work, clear windowglass, etc. All gauges appear to be fully functional as are allsafety items. Also included with this special Imperial will be acopy of its original build card (Service Car Record) showingoriginal dealerin Chicago, Illinois when ordered new in November1937, an original owner's manual, photos of the restoration, a veryimpressive article in Special Interest Autos magazine written byJeffrey Godshall in the November/December issue 1992 regarding theimportance of the 1938 Chrysler models features this very modelseries, and all tire changing tools including a third usable sparetire located in the trunk. Please feel completely welcome to callwith additional questions or schedule your chance to review it inperson.
