Even into the late 1970's with alloy engines andperformance-inspired sedans like the 6.9, technology lead the wayto well-funded buyers! Anti-lock brakes, Acceleration Slip Control(ASC), dash air bags, electro/mechanical fuel injection, electronicignition systems, and more. The Type 126 Coupe was offered from1981-1991 for all markets, but in very limited production numberseach year. Sharing the chassis and interior appointments of thetop-of-the-line S-Class, it didn't disappoint buyers with roadhandling, nor availability in options. The MSRP averaged $75,000,so it was also left for the privileged few that could order one! Weare very pleased to offer this 2-owner 1987 Mercedes Benz 560SECCoupe finished in factory code 199- Blauschwartz Metallic(Blue-Black Metallic) over code 275- Cream Beige interior! This example was builtMarch 10th, 1987, and delivered new by Continental Motors Inc. inFairfield, Connecticut to its first owner in April 28th, 1987, soit was likely sold before it even landed in the USA. The originalowner was Jeffrey Castaldo of A.G.I. Rubber Company based inBridgeport, CT who would hang onto this one until April 2016 beforeselling to Evergreen Historic Automobiles. It would have only57,000 original miles! It would be showcased in their collectionjust one year, adding only a handful of delivery miles, before itwould become part of our showcase with 57,175 miles on the odometertoday! In March 2016, it would receive a remarkable amount ofattention due to it being driven so sparingly. This included allnew front and rear brake rotors, pads, & wear sensors, completeflush of brake fluid, all new spark plugs, fresh drive belts, allnew fluids in engine, transmission, & differential, new battery, new fuel filter, new Mercedes muffler and center pipes, all newsteering control bushings, all new Continental Extreme Contacttires, 4-wheel alignment, lubed all hinged components, new blowermotor & resistor, and more! It starts easily and runs trulywonderfully on the road! The air conditioning received a newcompressor and continues to perform perfectly! The original radio, power antenna, seatbelt extenders, all power features, gauges &safety items all remain fully functional. It is a very sharp carwith minimal paintwork limited to the hood, front & rear lowerfascias due to normal wear, but all panels remain 100% original andaccident free.
