The timeless 1978 Chevrolet Corvette is a remarkable example of what is becoming one of the most rapidly appreciating segments in the classic Corvette market. Representing the 25th Anniversary, and the first year for the rounded glass rear window, the 1978 Corvette issued in a new era of Corvette with a Fastback body and was the first major design revision in 10 years! Chevrolet was once again invited to pace the Indianapolis 500, and the Corvette was the obvious choice! Public interest was immediate and sales were meant to be limited to only300 examples, but in the end Chevrolet decided to have at least one available for every dealer in the USA and Canada. Final production totaled 6,502 units. All were dressed in Black & Silver paint schemes with Silver leather interiors.

This beautifully cared for Corvette is equipped with the rare L82 350ci V8 4bbl high output motor, automatic transmission, power steering, power 4 wheel disc brakes, power windows & locks, Four-Seasons air conditioning, Gymkhana suspension, Cruise Master speed control, Convenience Group, tilt/telescopic steering wheel, rear defrost, original AM/FM/8-Track radio, dual rear speakers, power antenna, sport mirrors with driver remote, 15" polished aluminum wheels, heavy duty battery, and raised white letter tires! Having been in careful ownership from new, this stunning survivor has traveled only 19,078miles from new! It showcases remarkable paint that was refinished in the early 1990's and an all original interior without any past restoration. Included with the car are the original T-Top storage bags, warranty booklet, owner's manuals, tire & battery cards, consumer insert, and decal installation instructions!

This example was parked in the marvelous Evergreen Historic Automobile Collection based in Lebanon, MO since May of 1995 as part of the incredible Corvette display! Their room features one Corvette of every single year of production, and many limited editions such as these Pace Cars. It was only recently decided the collection needed to be reduced in size, allowing this example to free up for the first time in 22 years!
