Beautifully kept 63,000 mile example fitted in factory two-tonecombination! This special order Park Ward example is nicelyequipped withair conditioning, electric window lifts,AM/FM/8-track player with power antenna, outside mirrors, frontbadge bar, and lambskin interior rugs! A super example thatremains very original with numbers matching drivetrain andexcellent looks inside and out! Replacing the important but nottremendously popular Silver Dawn in 1955 was the Silver Cloud,offering body-on-frame construction, permitting both the typicalPressed Steel Company bodies but also alternate configurations. Inits sophomore year, it introduced power steering and airconditioning to the Rolls-Royce line for the first time. It wassuccessful but by 1959 Rolls-Royce sought to further separateitself from the competition and introduced a new 6.2L V8 to replacethe old 4.9L Inline 6. This car became the Silver Cloud II and wasequally successful over its three year run, where power steeringbecame standard and power windows found their way onto the optionlist. But the ultimate Silver Cloud was released in 1963; featuringa 220 lb. lighter body with new quad headlights, upgraded 2" SUcarburetors replacing the previous 1" units, and 9:1 compression.The Silver Cloud III became one of the best high speed luxurysaloons of the 1960's. Seeing as the newest Silver Cloud is nowover 50 years old possessing more of earth's natural resources thanmost modern luxury sedans, along with arguably much more class,they should be the staple in any Rolls-Royce collection for itscombination of elegant styling with modern drivability. We arepleased to offer this 1965 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III finished infactory ordered Shell Grey and Burgundy two-tone combination overBeige Leather interior, Fawn headliner and Cumberland Stonecarpets! Fitted with its original, number matching 6.2L V8 enginewith Hydramatic automatic transmission and 3.50:1 rear axle, itcontinues to start, run, and drive simply wonderfully!Optionedfrom the factorywith Rolls Royce Electric Windows, Dunlopwhite-sided tubeless tyres (now Cooper 4-ply poly L78-15), plainSundyn window glass, AM/FM/8-track player with electricaerial(antenna), mirror to drivers vent frame, lambskin rugs inCumberland Stone, front badge bar,and initials to rear doorsreading D.J.R. in capitals. It isalso fitted with airconditioning which continues to work wonderfully. It was originallyordered newby Mr. D.J. Rosenheim on May 8th 1964, a plasticsmanufacturer based in New Jersey, when he was 52 years of age. Mr.Rosenheim was a long time classic car collector with as manyas1,000 cars gracing his stable throughout his lifetime. Thisparticular Rolls Roycetradedowners just ahandful oftimes overthe past 50 years. It made its way to Atlanta by 1975 while in thehands of Dr. Walker Moore, then out to the plains of Oklahomaandback to Hamden, Connecticut most recently since 2002. With just63,226 miles showing on the odometer, it is safe to say it has beenpampered over the years! The exterior paint has been professionallyrefinished, while the chrome and interior upholstery remain largelyoriginal. The upper door wood trim has been recently refinished,and the leathers have been lightly re-dyed to restore theiroriginal color. Overall, we would rate the car's appearance asvery good' preserving a striking presentation both inside and out.It is complete with small tool set (missing two items), completelarge tool set with flashlight, spare tire, all factory Triplex XXXglass, Marston Excelsior radiator, original carburetors, Lucascomponents, lambskin rugs, andSchoellkopf/Inskip card &chassis/build sheet copies provided courtesy of the Rolls RoyceFoundation.
