If you are seeking employment as an international spy, there isreally only one automobile suitable for your daily transportationneeds. That automobile, of course, is the famous Aston Martin.Designed by Ian Callum, the rakish lines of the DB7 were bold andgraceful. The design of the DB7 paid homage to the iconic DB4 andDB5 models from the sixties that were made so famous by the JamesBond 007 spy movies. The first Aston Martin DB7 was launched inMarch of 1993 at the Geneva Motor Show. For the first six years ofproduction, the DB7s were powered by six-cylinder engines and wereintended to be "entry level" Aston Martins. However, by 1999, theDB7 evolved into an expensive sports car. It was in 1999 that AstonMartin installed its first production, 12-cylinder engine into thesix-year old DB7 to create a new model called the DB7 Vantage. TheAston Martin DB7 Vantage quickly proved to be a luxury, high-performance, super car. With the new, 12-cylinder engine added tothe already lightweight body and chassis, the new DB7 Vantages hada rated top speed of 165 to 185 miles per hour depending on thechoice of transmissions. Produced from 1993 to 2004, the DB7 provedto be one of the most popular Aston Martin models ever launched, although only 7,000 units were built and sold worldwide. For thoseseeking a luxurious, high performance sports car at a reasonableprice, this 2000 Aston Martin Vantage V-12 Convertible is certainlyworthy of consideration. This example (VIN number:SCFAB4235YK400313) is from a prominent collector of vintage andspecialty automobiles. This car has been properly enjoyed and caredfor by the last couple of owners. It has recently been subjected toa thorough, mechanical servicing by GLB Motorworks of St. Louis. The odometer currently reads less than 32,000 miles. This car isbeing sold with clean CarFax report as well as copies of the recentservice receipts, all of which we will happily send to anyinterested parties. The exterior on this DB7 Vantage is finished ina rich, charcoal color, which is generally clean but certainlyshows the expected signs of wear that one would expect fromenjoying such a powerful, road-going vehicle. On the inside, thetwo-toned silver-gray and charcoal interior presents well. Like theexterior, the interior does show some signs of wear but is cleanand presentable. The rear courtesy light is missing its lens. Thedashboard is clean and all of the gauges are clear. The steeringwheels shows driving wear. The convertible top assembly shows someaging spots but is generally clean and functional. The trunk areais well maintained and has its proper jack and spare tire. Forlistening enjoyment on those long rides, a contemporary stereosystem has recently been fitted with trunk- mounted speakers. Underthe hood rests the impressive 5.9-liter, 48 valve, 420 horsepowerV-12 engine. The engine appears clean and presents well althoughone of the upper dust covers is missing. For easy driving, thisexample is fitted with the ZF, five-speed, automatic transmission, which allows it to be easily manipulated in traffic but certainlydoes not restrict it from performing at high speeds on the openroad. The light steering and tight suspension are trademarks of theDB7 and certainly increase the driving enjoyment of this potentmachine. The car runs well and is a delight to drive. With it quickacceleration and stable handling features, one can easilyappreciate Aston Martin's reputation as an easy to drive, luxurysports car.
