Excellent color presentationof Burgundy & Black, Cleveland 400ci power plant, automatictransmission, power steering, power disc brakes, and more! Awesomedriver!\ One of the most revered designs to come from the 1930'sshowrooms would be the 1935 Auburn 851 Speedster. It was quicklyadapted and replicated by the 1970's using modern fiberglassmolding practices. Using updated engines, chassis', brakingcomponents, automatic transmissions, it quickly became a leisurelycar to own and drive! Although not exactly cheap, California CustomCoach, based in Pasadena, CA, produced a full, factory builtturn-key "Model 876" example for a hefty $37,500 in the 1970's!Primarily consisting of a stretched Ford chassis, drivetrain, andsuspension, they provided faithful service to their proud ownersdriving them down the road! We are excited to offer this CaliforniaCustom Coach 1936 Auburn 876 Speedster finished in glossy Burgundy& Black two-tone exterior over Light Tan interior and matching Tantop. Power comes from a torquey 1971 date-coded 400ci V8 enginemated to C6 automatic transmission! California Custom Coach began producing kits forowners in 1976, but elected to make all examples factory turn-keyin 1979 to protect quality control and ensure safely finishedunits. They became known as one of the best replica manufactures inthe nation, also adding other vehicles to the lineup over theyears, including an Auburn Phaeton and Ferrari Daytona Spider.Today, they continue to be respected as confident choice for driverenthusiasts worldwide. This example landed with its most recentowner showcasing just 3,357 miles on the original odometer. Heelected to replace those standard VDO gauges with a classierversion supplied from Classic Instruments to give the dash anoutstanding, vintage throwback while allowing for the entire dashto be replaced with brand new wiring. Today, the new odometer readsonly 211 miles so this vehicle will be sold "exempt" for thisreason. It continues to run and operate so wonderfully with a fulldual exhaust system providing a robust exhaust note, K&Nreusable air filter, Flex-a-Lite electric cooling fan, finnedaluminum valve covers, Edelbrock Performer 400 aluminum intake &Edelbrock 600cfm 4-barrel carburetor.
