History of the 1959 Jaguar XK150 SE Roadster:
Boasting from the success of the XK120, Jaguar did what all greatsports car manufacturers do which was contribute new features tocounter criticisms in order to continue attracting in buyers. Thisled to the introduction of a larger interior cabin space by movingthe engine, firewall, and dash all forward by 3" to betteraccommodate a variety of drivers, along with effortless rack/pinionsteering, improved brakes and suspension travel withshock-absorbing dampening. Cosmetically it appeared nearly the sameas the XK120, but larger bumpers with over-riders, a one-piecegrille accented with trim that ran over the hood through to thedeck lid for the revised XK140. By 1958, after consecutive Leman'ssuccess from 1955, 1956, and 1957, a new Jaguar XK150 would beintroduced. This meant some revisions to the body that included ataller beltline, larger interior, leather-wrapped dashboard, aone-piece windshield, and for the first time in the open two-seater(OTS), roll-up windows that were hidden within the doors. A newemblem was affixed to the trunk highlighting its heritage of beingthe proud winner at Le Mans from 1951-1953, 1955-1957!

Tom enjoyed his XK150until personal health issues forced him to sale in 2014. Prior toputting his prized possession on the market, he asked Jaguarrestoration experts Muncie Imports & Classics in Muncie, Indiana toprepare the gently used Jaguar for the next owner. This began witha complete overhaul of the brake system: new brake servo, brakelines, fittings, hoses, and brake fluid; new Dayton chrome wirewheels & tires; air filter, complete ignition system with new plugs& wires; new transmission fluid, engine oil/filter; cam covergaskets, all coolant/heater hoses; cylinder head gasket, exhaustmanifold gaskets; new differential pinion seal & gasket;differential input flange, clutch hose, among many other varioussmaller items to ensure it would be equally enjoyable for the nextowner.
