Very nicely sorted T-Bird in an excellent color combination!Features include Thunderbird 312 V8, automatic, Master-Guide powersteering, Swift-Sure power brakes, power seat, soft & hard tops,andradial whitewalls! Excellent road going condition! Releasedin 1955, the Thunderbird had created a new vehicle niche; thepersonal luxury car. Equipped with performance motors, lots ofstandard features, plush interiors and comfortable suspensions, theThunderbird was in a class all its own. For many, it was thequintessential road trip car for two. As with most automakers inthe 50s, the car was drastically updated every year, with new sheetmetal and features. The second year of production debuted with thespare tire absent from the inner trunk and mounted as a continentalstyle spare for additional trunk space, along with the exhaust nowexisting through the rear bumper at the corners. Hardtops were nowavailable with optional porthole windows for better visibility whenin use. And for added cabin comfort, a side vent was incorporatedto the front fender to flow air into the cabin on hot days, alongwith side wind wings, sun visors, 12-volt electrical system, andround heater control knobs. Sales totaled only 15,631, fewest ofall baby Birds, making them highly collectible to this day!Featured here is a 1956 Ford Thunderbird Convertible finished in afactory color code Z- Thunderbird Green (Sage) over XF-interiorcode of Green & White. Thisexample was built the 14th day of December and delivered new to theNew York sales district. It was later located by the St. Louis CarMuseum in Lakeland, Florida. Showing 90,242 miles on the odometer,it is believed to be actual, although no formal documentation wasprovided to support such a claim.
