The engine was overhauled inthe late 1990's to better prepare it for today's unleaded fuels, along with the body being repainted professionally to bring it backto a more original appearance as well as new interior headliner andseating upholstery. It otherwise remains all original! The chromeon the entire car is best described as excellent with exception tothe front grill and hood ornament release handle showing slightlymore wear which is to be expected. We would rate them very good. The front door quarter glass chrome surrounds are fair to good. ALLof the window glass is the original date-coded Safety-Plate Hi-Testglass dating from November 1940 to April 1941 depending on thelocation on the car! The dash wood-graining remains excellent asdoes the factory steering wheel! The trunk has been professionallyrefinished, but it appears to retain the factory Firestone sparetire. Most recently, due to lack of use from the former owner'scollection of 13 years, it has been treated to a complete rebuildof the brakes. All new master cylinder, front shoes, wheels seals, front brake hoses, repacked wheel bearings, new hydraulic brakefluid, all completely bled for excellent brake pedal feel. Alsocompleted just prior to its arrival to the Car Museum was a fulltune up with new Delco spark plugs, new wires, distributor cap &rotor, radiator hoses & clamps, heater hoses & clamps, drive belts, new battery cables & braided grounds, tires, and exhaust muffler. An electric fuel pump with filter aids the car for cold startsthese days, but no other modifications are noted other than anintegrated battery cut-switch for times of storage.
