Wonderfully equipped TD showcasing a 16 year old restoration that has held up exceptionally well! Always garaged with awesome rust free chassis and super solid wood framework! Upgraded 1250cc TD2 engine, original Jaegar instrumentation, real wood LL steering wheel, headlight rock guards, wind wings, full tonneau cover & side curtains, chromed grill louvers, Lucas fog lights, driving light, and more! A lot of car for the money!

Debuting in 1950, the TC-series was replaced by a slightly larger TD-series. This new design offered both left-hand-drive and an independent front suspension for the first time. They also included smaller, more tire-friendly 15" wheels and a wheel track that was 5 inches wider promising better road handling! This beautiful 1951 MG TD Roadster comes finished in MG Red over Beige hides and Tan cloth folding soft top. Powered by the upgraded 1250cc straight 4 cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. It produces a modest 57 horsepower at 5200 rpm. Features include walnut veneer wood dash,3-spoke LL wood steering wheel, correct Jaeger gauges and Lucas amp meter, chromed grill louvers, electric wipers, King of the Road fender lights, 15" steel disc wheels with polished chrome center caps fitted with steel-belted radial tires, a complete set of vinyl side curtains, interior seatbelts, and tan canvass tonneau/boot cover!

It showcases a very well maintained, older cosmetic restoration completed approximately 16 or so years ago that still offers beautiful aesthetics and driving characteristics! The restoration began with what appears to be an incredibly solid foundation providing an excellent, original wood body and rust free chassis. The rebuilt engine in our example is a later generation XPAG TD2 style (unit #18986) consisting of an improved block allowing an oil pump with integral Tecalemit canister style oil filter, and bell housing design accommodating a larger flywheel &clutch.

A full and complete rewire of all electricals throughout the car preserved the Lucas generator charging system with positive ground. Protecting the originality, you will find the brass fuel lines, polished intake system with dual SU carburetors & brass caps, air cleaner assembly, proper radiator, and more! Added to the engine were an aluminum valve cover, finned aluminum side cover, and hood lid holders. All body tags are clearly present and unaltered making this sharp example a genuine driver investment! It already comes well dressed with Lucas front fog lamps, center driving light, headlight rock guards, wind wings, and dual fender-mounted mirrors! It will be complete with jack, engine crank, lug wrench, and tool roll. Workshop, service, and parts manuals are also provided. It's ready to be driven and shown immediately! St. Louis Car Museum will be selling the vehicle mileage exempt with true mileage unknown. Please feel free to call with any questions. We look forward to your business!
