Exceptionally rare M491 Turbo-Look Cabriolet! One of very fewknown to exist in USA specs from 1984, and this one has had justtwo owners from new! A wonderfully solid car complete with PorscheCertificate of Authenticity, original tools, and clean Carfax! Arare chance for serious Porsche collectors! It has been long knownthat nearly any Porsche model offered could be ordered with justabout any option a buyer could want, whether it was on the standardorder sheet or not. This is what spurred Porsche's SonderwunshProgramm, aka Special Wishes division, to carry out the customorders requested by buyers all over the world. Dealers were madeaware of the new M491- Turbo-Look option in 1984. For USA buyers, the Turbo was not offered due to emission regulations set forth byour government. This Turbo-Look option may not have earned you theengine, but instead the wide body design, larger wheels, rearspoiler, bigger brakes, and matching suspension components. Itcould be ordered in Coupe, Targa, or Cabriolet form, as Porschewould not offer a real Turbo in Cabriolet form until 1989. Being anew option, not many were ordered according to the Turbo-LookRegistry largely due to expensive cost added to the window sticker, and delayed delivery timeframe. Today, less than a dozen or so areknown to exist in Cabriolet form from 1984. This example is one ofthose ultra-rare few! We are exiting to have the opportunity topresent this 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo-Look Cabriolet finishedin paint-to-sample code 99- Pearl White Metallic over YY- BurgundyInterior (now fitted with Black leather seating surfaces). They continued their ownership and careuntil December 2010 when it finally traded hands with only 44,000miles on the odometer. The second owner, another Ozark PCA member, took possession and maintained it until our purchase with 55,094miles on the odometer. He took some liberties to fully service thecar over the last 6 years to include new head temp sensor, DMErelay, & fuel pump relay in 2011, new crankshaft positioningsensors, rear brake pads, all new BF Goodrich g-Force Sport Comp 2tires, along with fluid change completed in 2015 by Perfection Plusbased in Little Rock, AR.
