A superrare, quality crafted, limited production wood boat! Gorgeous!Hutchinson Brothers Boat Works, Inc. was founded in Alexandria Bay,New York in a rented building in 1902. A true family business, allfour Hutchinson brothers (James Herbert, George, Thomas and Joseph)as well as eleven to sixteen other men worked day after day tobuild exceptionally crafted mahogany planked boats ranging from 19'utility boats to 48' runabouts. From 1902 to 1964, it is said thatHutchinson built over 250 boats including houseboats, racing boats, launches, utilities, sedans, cruisers, runabouts and even boats forthe war effort, many of their own design but some based off thedesigns of other famous manufacturers. OriginallyChrysler powered, the current engine is a Chris Craft 283ciV8(installed approximately 1984)providing 300 horsepower thatwill propel this utility to 30 miles per hour. Included with theboat is a 1988 Remeq Inc. tandem axle trailer with new tires inApril 2015. This vessel was purchased 11 years ago by the previousowner from Canada. Before his purchase, he had a survey conductedin mid-May of 2004 by Jonathan A. Watson (I/ENG, CIMarE, AMIMarE)of Marine Surveys Inc. Overall findings were very favorable withnotes worth mentioning: the topside varnish is "bright and clear"with even staining. Underneath, he found that the hull wasre-caulked, with a freshly balanced propeller and that the ribsinside were repaired as needed. The fuel tank was removed andboiled before being reinstalled with new vent and lines to theengine in copper. The steering was serviced and the electricalsystem was also completely gone through to ensure properfunctionality! Finally, the surveyor also found a new compass, serviced fire extinguisher and numerous ropes and paddles that allstill reside in the vessel today. It was registered out of NewYork stateby a Hartford, Connecticut owner prior to 2004 whennamed "Chantannic III". Having seen only occasional outings overthe last 11 years on a fresh water lake in Lancaster, Ontario,Canada, the boat remains in very similar condition as when thesurvey was completed, noting the boat was stored out of the waterina covered dock duringsummer and in a closed building on atrailer in the winter. The bow numberarea and rear stern areaareprepped forits next owner to register and rename. It is fullyfunctional and ready for immediate use. We would welcome anyadditional questions on this wonderful and rare 26' HutchinsonUtility; please don't hesitate to call with further questions! Thanks for looking!
