Believed to be 59,000 mile original!Fender skirts, spotlight, fog lights, heater, AM radio and more!Ford's designs of the 30s remain iconic today for their upscalepenmanship, standard features and collectability among enthusiasts.Whereas the new 1939 standard Fords looked very much like theirprevious year counterparts, Deluxe models received a more stylishfront end as well as hydraulic brakes that were new for the wholeline-up for the year. 1939 would prove to be the last year for thefloor-shifted manual transmission until the Thunderbird of 1955.Today, the '39 Ford is popular because of its good looks, both forhot rodders and purists alike. 144,333 in total were built. We arevery excited to offer this 1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe! Finished inDartmouth Green over tan cloth interior, this Deluxe retains itscorrect 221ci Flathead V8 producing a conservative 85 horsepower.The power is transferred to the ground via a three-speed manualtransmission. The car has several notable options including frontand rear bumperettes, fender skirts, Lorraine pre-focused drivingspotlight, dual side-view mirrors, dual windshield wipers, BLCyellow tinted 5 fog lights, heater, AM radio with antenna, clock,passenger vanity mirror, locking gas cap, "V8" exhaust turndown andmore! The car rides on painted steel wheels with polished "V8"hubcaps wrapped in Firestone 8.00-16 Deluxe Champion gum-dippedtires! The car is presented as an older restoration, with paintdone nearly 50 years ago. That said, it will show signs of wearwith cracking in certain places but still holds a terrific lacquershine. Inside, the upholstery has been finished with a LeBaronBonney interior and includes the seats, door panels, headliner andvisors. The original glass shows a minor amount of delamination butshows well. The body lines are exceptionally straight and there isno funny business near the bottom; the car is believed to havespent the first part of its life in the south. The doors shut witha reassuring thud and the windows roll up and down without hiccup.All gauges are functional and all lights work as intended.Mechanically, the car may be one of the best driving prewarflathead Fords we've ever had. The car fires immediately with justa hint of choke and continues to run great. The flathead V8 purrsand the manual transmission is tighter than most others we haveexperienced with perfect clutch engagement. Both water pumps haverecently been upgraded with newer modern units with heavy dutyinternal shaft, sever duty roller & ball bearing, and improvedceramic seals to ensure no leaks in the future. The odometer shows59,215 miles, which may or may not be accurate and we are making noclaims. This Ford presents an opportunity for someone to own anddrive one of Ford's most iconic models, with the later option ofpainting it or leaving it as-is.
