Honda is no stranger to high performance engines on many platforms, from motorcycles, passenger cars, Indy Car racing, and even airplanes. Much of the motorsport engineering and development by Honda has been hailed as some of the finest worldwide. Unlike international automotive brands, these Japanese powerhouse vehicles use small cylinder displacement versus our fuel-hungry V8 counterparts found under the hoods of most American vehicles. This premise continued through the seventh generation Civic for USA buyers but departed once again in 2007 only to be sold through international markets. It would not return to US soil until 2017 with the 10th generation Civic and incorporate the now infamous K20C1 Direct Injection Turbo 4-cylinder turbocharged engine! With just a 2.0L displacement, these mighty engines created north of 300 horsepower with equally matched torque numbers! Wicked fun and still only available through Honda with a manual transmission.
