Designed as a pony car to compete with the Ford Mustang, Pontiac introduced the Firebird in 1967 around the same time Mercury unleashed the Cougar, while Chevrolet unveiled the Camaro, which shared the same F-body General Motors platform. In 1969 Pontiac introduced the Trans Am model series which was essentially the Firebird with enhanced performance options including a more powerful engine, refined suspension, and more high-end interior options. The Firebird became Pontiacs sole performance car when the demise of the larger muscle cars like the GTO came about in the 1970's. The initial Trans Am was only offered in limited production numbers of only a few thousand units each year, until the mid-1970s when the 2nd generation of the Firebird Trans Am really took off in popularity.

The Pontiac Firebird, and its performance inspired Trans Am, saw terrific success through the years and survived the country's gas crises and new emissions reforms to produce some of the most iconic muscle cars to this day. The 4th generation continued the see changes with updated looks with emphasis on aerodynamic styling, produced from 1993 until 2002. These refreshed Firebirds featured a new hood and front fascia with dual intakes, retracting quad halogen headlights, and circular reverse lamps among many other changes including modern safety and design features. And the 2001-2002 LS1-powered cars shared Corvette Z06 (LS6 engine) components to further increase performance and durability, making these cars highly desired today!

Offered here is a final year 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am 35th Anniversary Collector's Edition Coupe finished in Sunfire Yellow over Ebony Leather interior.
