This is a 3-owner Rolls Royce example with numbers matching drivetrain with excellent looks both inside and out!
History of the Rolls Royce Silver Cloud III:
The Silver Cloud model replacing the important but not tremendously popular Silver Dawn in 1955, offering a body-on-frame construction, that permitted both the typical Pressed Steel Company bodies but as well as alternate configurations. In its sophomore year, the model introduced power steering and air conditioning to the Rolls-Royce line for the first time, which was successful but by 1959 Rolls-Royce sought to further separate itself from the competition and introduced a new 6.2L V8, which replaced the old 4.9L Inline 6. The car became known as the Silver Cloud II, which was equally successful over its three-year run. Power steering became standard and power windows found their way onto the options list. But it wasn't until 1963 when the ultimate Silver Cloud was released, which featured a 220 lb. lighter body with new quad headlights, upgraded 2” SU carburetors that replaced the previous 1¾” units, and 9:1 compression.
The Silver Cloud III became one of the best high speed luxury saloons of the 1960's. Seeing as the latest Silver Cloud is now over 50 years old and possesses more of earth's natural resources than most modern luxury sedans, they should be seen as a staple in any Rolls-Royce collection for its combination of elegant styling with modern drivability.

The Cornell's are best known for their connection to New York's Cornell University, which George's descendants founded in 1865. His own father had been part of the first graduating class of law students in 1889 and went on to work as a prominent attorney in New York before becoming the director and legal counsel for the IBM Corporation throughout his entire life.
George and Harriet would take delivery on September 24th, 1965 and use their gorgeous Silver Cloud III frequently until 1989, maintaining ownership all their lives and only parting with this stunning classic Rolls Royce after settling their estate in 2003. The vehicle's well-documented service records show that this particular model would receive consistent service from new through December 1989. At the time the car had 91,241 miles on the odometer. When it sold in 2003 to the second owners based in Bristol, VA in October 2003, the odometer showed only 91,552 supporting infrequent use during their later years. A final sale to it most recent owner of the past 14 years transpired in June 2005 would show only 91,687 miles odometer. The exterior paint has been beautifully refinished, while the chrome and stainless bright work remain original and in excellent condition! The front & rear interior seating leather has been reupholstered in 2010. The upper door wood moldings, dash face, and rear tray tables remain in superb original condition! Overall, we would rate the car's appearance as 'excellent' presenting a striking appearance both inside and out.
Comprehensive servicing would commence with Herbert Automotive (Rolls Royce & Bentley specialists based in Metairie, LA) the summer of 2006 and remain in their expert care until today. From regular fluid changes, transmission services, rebuilding of the power steering box, carburetor rebuilds, new air conditioning equipment, necessary engine gaskets, to a complete brake overhaul in 2014, it received necessary care whenever needed. It is complete with small tool set, complete large tool set with flashlight, spare tire, all factory Triplex XXX glass, Marston Excelsior radiator, original carburetors, Lucas components, lambskin rugs, Schoellkopf/Inskip card & chassis/build sheet copies provided courtesy of the Rolls Royce Foundation. It also retains all original body tags, proper chassis plates, and became a frequent RROC vehicle at club events even taking home a Touring Class ribbon along the way.
