Jaguar called their XJ-S model “Nimble & powerful, yet eminently civilized.” It couldn't be stated any better for these sophisticated, sport touring examples. While design & style were still in the careful hands of Jaguar before new ownership by Ford forced a redesign, the 1989 and 1990 models have quickly grown quite collectible. Their superb styling, robust V-12 power plant, road hugging independent suspension, and luxurious interiors continue to remain timeless today!
We are very proud to present this 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Coupe! Finished in beautiful Signal Red exterior with Warm Charcoal soft leather upholstery! Under the hood of the XJ-S purrs the mighty 5.3L V-12 engine producing 263 horsepower mated to an automatic transmission, and a grand touring gear ratio of 2.88:1 with a limited-slip differential. Special features included polished burl walnut wood fascia on the dash fascia, center control panel, & door rails; leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, 15” diamond spoke light alloy wheels, Teves anti-lock brakes, side airbag, power windows, heated seats with power lumber support, remote power mirrors, AM/FM/Cassette stereo system, tilt steering wheel, automatic climate control, full dash instrumentation, onboard trip computer, and much more!
This example comes to us with only 29,684 original miles showing on the odometer! With only a handful of careful owners from new, this garage kept XJ-S remains in excellent condition throughout! It sold new from a Delaware Jaguar dealership and was used primarily as summer-only vehicle between Delaware & Maine until 2014. While there, records provided show it was serviced by John Shephard of Shep' s Imports of Union, Maine who was a Jaguar specialist. It would sell in April 2014 to a new owner located in Storm Lake, Iowa with just 24,630 miles on the odometer.
With consistent service records and routine annual maintenance always performed, the car continues to perform wonderfully! A new headliner was fitted in 2014, front shocks in 2016, and new battery in March 2021. It would sell that year to its most recent owner based here in St. Louis now showing only 26,200 miles on the odometer. Soon after purchase, it would visit Schwarz Ltd for a comprehensive recommended service that included resealing the cam towers, replacing the thermostats & gaskets, camshaft gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, oil sending unit, and replacement of the rubber hoses to include coolant hoses, emission hose, water rail gaskets, and water grommet seals. The spring 2022, new radials tires were fitted at 27,378 miles. Just this year, new hood struts were installed, fresh engine oil change, air conditioning service, and transmission filter service and pan gasket replacement were completed at 29,486 miles.
Included with this special Jaguar is the original owner's manual, 2 sets of keys, original cassette head cleaning kit, XJ-S audio instruction tape, service records dating back to 2000, paint touch up bottle, spare tire with original cover, jack & storage bag, and lug nut wrench. It appears to have no post-factory paintwork with consistent paint meter readings throughout, along with no accident history on a clean CarFax report. All of the factory VIN body panel stickers remain present. And having never been out in inclement weather, the under-hood and undercarriage presentations continue to look quite remarkable! Please feel free to call with any additional questions or to schedule an appointment to view this one-owner XJ-S Coupe in person. It should make for a sound, future blue chip investment! We look forward to working with you!
