In a past article in Corvette Market magazine, leaders in the collector car industry were asked what 4th generation Corvette the most investment worthy and collectable car would be. Every man on that panel of experts mentioned the Corvette ZR-1! It is hands down the most collectable Corvette that the common man can still afford today, while the future may tell a different story!
“The King of the Hill” was the buzz phrase surrounding the newest Corvette from Chevrolet, a true super car of its era. The ZR-1 is known for its top speed endurance record, where the car went at speeds over 175MPH, nonstop, for 24 hours, thanks to the enormous power produced from the never-before-seen LT5 all-aluminum, 32-valve 4-Cam V8 engine, that was designed by Lotus and handcrafted by Mercury Marine. The RPO ZR1 package added $31,683.00 dollars to the base price of Corvette, nearly doubling the cost! The package included a wider custom body, Bosch ABS II anti-lock brakes, dual 6-way power sport seats with lumbar control, specially laminated solar windshield, 6-speed manual transaxle, and massive 17” wheels and ZR-rated tire package with low tire pressure warning indicator.
Finished in its factory original White exterior with Red Leather interior, this highly sought after color combination is essential to the collector. Having traveled only 27,141 miles since it left the factory, this lovely Corvette comes nicely equipped with a removable painted targa roof panel, cruise control, electronic climate-controlled system, Pass-Key security system, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, power heated outside mirrors, onboard trip computer, and leather wrapped steering wheel and shifter! The original factory Delco Bose AM/FM/CD player has been upgraded to an Alpine touchscreen unit with Bluetooth phone capabilities and back up camera.
This example comes with 1 set of original keys, valet power key, emergency wallet door entry key, top removal tool, original owner's manuals, and a clean CarFax report. A fantastic Corvette which will make for an excellent investment, both today, and in the future! Only 2,044 Corvettes received the ZR-1 package for 1991 and fewer were built each following year. Do not delay, as astute investment minded individuals are quickly stashing these cars away as confident investments. Please feel welcome to contact us with any questions you may have or to schedule an opportunity to see it in person!
