Finished in iconic Tahoe Turquoise on Aqua/Parchment two-tone deluxe interior, this recently restored Mustang is an exceptionally handsome classic convertible that needs nothing and is ready for the summer weather! Well equipped with its original T-code 200ci Inline 6 cylinder engine rated at 120hp and durable, smooth shifting C-4 automatic transmission along with economy 2.83:1 axle ratio. Features and options include Ford air conditioning, power convertible top, power steering, 14” steel wheels with standard wheel covers, original working AM radio, and front and rear seatbelts!
This Mustang has been in the care of its previous owner since July 1991. Soon after his purchase, he would enlist the help of Mustang Corral based in Valley Park, IL to begin a restoration. The engine was completely rebuilt in December 1991 to include boiled block, new pistons rings, complete valve job; new main, cam, and rod bearings; new pushrods, lifters, harmonic balancer, timing chain, engine mounts, etc. The rear axle was fully rebuilt, suspension replaced, and new exhaust installed in April 1992. While the engine was removed, restoration included fresh exterior paint along with new weather stripping, new window felts, as well as convertible top & boot. It would be enjoyed sparingly during fair weather throughout the summer garaged at the family lake house. The entire interior upholstery from the sun visors to the carpet was later replaced by Mustang Corral in March 2009 completing the balance of a comprehensive restoration.
It would continue to be properly maintained and serviced during their ownership, with a new radiator, thermostat, and water pump, whitewall tires, fuel pump, and brake service during the summer of 2022. Sadly, the owner would pass in 2023, leaving the car to his family estate. We would become the proud owners here at the St. Louis Car Museum in November 2023. It would receive a full inspection and servicing in preparation for this sale. This included a new Holley carburetor, spark plugs & wires, power steering pump, rear axle seal & gear oil, new transmission filter & pan gasket, oil pan gasket with fresh engine oil & filter. The air conditioning system was also serviced and now retrofitted to R134a and charged to be in full working condition.
This beautiful 1966 Mustang not only looks great but runs and drives beautifully as well. It will come with both sets of hubcaps you see in the pictures, wire spoke and standard original versions. For the savvy muscle car buyer, there will be few more rewarding acquisitions. All past service and restoration records will be included. Call with questions or to set up a chance to review it in person. Thanks!
