History About Chevrolet's Corvette Models:
The success of the 60s mid-year Sting Ray continued but with subtle changes made in 1965. For 1965, Chevrolet chose to remove the hood vents from the model and the trio of fender vents now effectively reduced engine heat, and the wheel covers were redesigned. Also new for that year was a 396ci/425hp big block that essentially replaced the more expensive 327ci/375hp Fuel Injected motor. Also new were standard 4-wheel disc brakes that improved braking considerably along with extended longevity. It proved to be a successful year and Chevrolet sold 23,562 examples!
