Beginning in 1995, American IronHorse started building custom motorcycles in their Fort Worth, Texas facility. With the ability to create most of the parts directly in-house, they became the largest factory producer of handmade custom motorcycles in the USA! American IronHorse’s facility spanned some 224,000 square feet, and with the age of technology at their fingertips, they drafted dozens of designs and produced over 305 parts through welding, machining, and lath equipment. This included everything from the frames & wheels to the custom seats. Engines were supplied from the reputable S&S Engines for optimum performance and custom options! Sadly, after more than a decade of success, the facility closed its doors in 2008 due to a decline in demand. Today though, they continue to represent some of the highest quality custom bikes you could buy. This example is no exception!
Offered here is a 2003 American IronHorse Legend designed to commemorate how the United States came together after the New York terrorist attack on September 11th, 2001. Custom painted professionally in a one-off design, this hand laid finish drapes a wind-driven American Flag with the stars & stripes proudly visible on both fenders and gas tank! The neck of the frame has been pinstriped “God Bless America 9/11/01” as a constant reminder of the sacrifices made by all during that horrific event, making this Legend chopper another honorable symbol of the pride we have for our country, and those who fight to protect it!
Power comes from an S&S 107ci Super Sidewinder V-Twin mated with Super Stock heads and Baker 6-speed direct-drive transmission. This incorporates a Legend belt cover, S&S Super G Shorty intake, and classic flapper style air cleaner housing! Polished chrome is abundant everywhere you look with the complete IronHorse chrome package! The custom 21” front wheel and 240/40R18 rear wheel wear Metzler rubber. Having only one owner from new, this Texas built and owned example shows only 282 miles on the odometer today! Coming straight from a large Arlington, TX collection, it remains in excellent condition! Recent servicing included fresh engine oil/filter, new compression relief switch, fresh battery, starter clutch, and original gauges rebuilt by Thunderheart Performance in White House, TN to ensure everything was working properly. It runs outstanding, and really makes a positive statement wherever it can be seen! A terrific investment and one-off show bike, no doubt! Act quickly!
