From concept to reality, the Acura NSX Coupe spent seven dedicated years on the tracks to refine it to its peak level of performance before offered to the public. With Honda’s engineering team instructed to use whatever means necessary to create a car that was both reliable enough for both street and track use, but also exceeded the performance and design qualities of any performance sports car coming out of Europe. They utilized their connection to the Formula 1 racing circuit thoroughly with driver incite from Japan’s Satoru Nakajima, 3-time world Champion Ayrton Senna from Brazil, and America’s Bobby Rahal to tune the chassis rigidity and road handling characteristics to be second to none! It debuted in 1991 using the Acura nameplate in the USA and became Automobile magazine’s Car of the Year! A great deal of the car’s success lies in the lightweight design. It was the first production car to utilize an all-aluminum, ultra light monocoque body, ultra rigid aluminum alloy frame, and 4-wheel independent aluminum double wishbone suspension components. This all aiding in shedding unnecessary pounds, increasing overall chassis rigidity, and improving handling!

This exceptional Acura NSX Coupe sold new from Precision Acura to a Boca Raton, FL owner on May 12th, 1993. It then spent the better part of its early life in Georgia from 1995-2004 totaling only 4 owners from new. It has been routinely serviced all its life, and maintains a perfect CarFax report to support no accident history. Its most recent owner purchased in August 2000 with 45,861 miles on the odometer. He had Carland Acura of Duluth, GA complete the full 60K Recommended Service in July 2001 at 56,782 miles. This included new engine oil & filter, transmission fluid, new fuel lines, air filter, spark plugs, new brake fluid, valve adjustment & valve covers gaskets, and cam plug seals. Driven and enjoyed regularly, it made its way to St. Louis when the owner relocated in approximately 2004. Frank Leta Acura would have the car in February 2004 with 81,646 miles for its first timing belt replacement, valve adjustment, new water pump, head gaskets, new timing cover, right CV joint & new boots, new radiator, and rear stabilizer link. Later that same year, the air conditioner computer assembly was replaced, along with the installation of stainless steel Comptech Sport exhaust headers, a Taitec GT lightweight exhaust system, and a Science of Speed ECU chip upgrade for some added horsepower. The original transmission was replaced at 95,046 miles with a professionally rebuilt unit provided by Science of Speed along with a RPS Stage I single full race disc clutch assembly. This was installed by Mungenast St. Louis Acura February 2007. Regularly maintenance was provided every year, with yearly Mobil 1 oil changes, cleaning & oiling of the K&N air filter as needed, tire replacement, etc. It received new Hawk HP Plus Sport/Track brake pads both front & rear in May 2017.
Just one year ago in October 2017 with 114,317 miles, a comprehensive service to include new timing belt, new water pump, a/c & alternator belts, metal cam plugs, cam seals, spark plug tube seals, Science of Speed lost motion spring kit, valve adjustment & fresh valve cover gaskets, oil pump gasket, all engine fluids, and new rear tires installed to prepare it for its next owner. Today, the mileage reads 115,742 miles. Every original part that was replaced with a bolt on upgrade component will be included with the purchase. This includes original exhaust, wheels/tires, chin spoiler, rear spoiler, etc. to put back to all stock specifications if you desire.
NOTE: We would like to address a concern regarding an incident reported to Experian AutoCheck in September 2003, which they list as an accident. On the contrary, on this day while being driven on a Savannah, GA highway, the current owner struck a large piece of truck tire tread resulting in right front fascia and hood damage. With the insurance involved to remedy the area, a new OEM Acura bumper fascia and hood were supplied and professionally repainted. The balance of the paint remains in very good original condition and we felt AutoCheck reporting it as an accident is hardly a fair categorization. Receipts of the incident are included with the sale to support it was immediately repaired professionally. More recently in September 2018, it received brand new leather front seats with a subtle double stitching in black. Don’t let the mileage scare you NSX enthusiasts! We all know long time owners of these magnificent machines have far exceeded 200k+ miles without looking back! This is still collector quality with all the right attributes representing one of only 14 Berlina Black over Ivory Coupes built in 1993. For those drivers looking for a fast, agile sports car without the yearly maintenance headaches, look no further!! Hard to beat the bang for your buck!!
