Regarding This Vehicle

1969 Ford Mustang SportsRoof

Brilliantly solid, rust free 1969 Ford Mustang Sportsroof with Mach I attributes added, in additional to a T5 5-speed manual transmission, Flaming River power rack& pinion steering, disc brakes, dual spoilers, blacked out hood with lock-down pins, front & rear anti-sway bars, and Vintage Air Conditioning!

A new design was in store for the Mustang for 1969, both inside and out. It grew in overall size while maintaining the same wheelbase as the prior year, but was now 1.5 inches lower to the ground. Headlight configuration grew to 4 sealed beam units, unique to this year only and the traditional Fastback was now referred to as the SportsRoof. It would showcase simulated rear fender scoops and a spoilered deck lid at the rear. With 10 engine options available, and several special performance packages to choose from, Ford was not going to let many showroom buyers offer excuses not to buy a Mustang! A new Mach I package replaced the GT package as the premier performance option. This package automatically added a flat black hood with lock-down pins, reflective body side stripe, competition suspension, chrome wheels, color-keyed outside sport mirrors, and pop-open gas cap! It required the Sportsroof body design and nothing less than a 351ci-2V V8 under the hood of course! Buyers flocked to showrooms to have one of their own!

We are proud to offer this outstandingly solid 1969 Ford Mustang Sportsroof (63A) fitted with its original 351ci 4bbl Windsor V8 factory rated at 290 horsepower, now mated to a Borg Warner T5 5-speed manual transmission, along with original 9” rear axle fitted with 3.00:1 gearing. This rust free, original body began life selling new from a Georgia District Sales Office in October 1968. Options on this car today include power-assisted rack & pinion steering by Flaming River, ventilated front disc brakes, modern Vintage Air air conditioning system, Philco AM pushbutton radio, back-up lights, windshield washer system, Sport Deck folding rear seat, wooden shift knob, Rim-Blow steering wheel, and carpeted floor mats!

Today, it has been treated to a complete restoration to include all the Mach I attributes and new exterior paint in Candyapple Red over special Black Mach I Deluxe interior. It is all new from the headliner to the carpeting! New seat foams & upholstery, insulated carpeting, sun visors, door panels, padded dash, and more! Further features include dual color-coded sport mirrors, upgraded competition suspension with front & rear anti-sway bars, flip-down racing fuel cap, blacked out hood with lock-down pins, 2.5” exhaust system with FlowMaster Series 50 Delta Flow mufflers & proper chrome quad-tips, 15” chrome Magnum 500 wheels wearing BF Goodrich T/A raised white letter tires measuring 235/60R15, rear window louvers, front & rear spoilers, Cobra finned-aluminum valve covers & air cleaner assembly, and Mach I reflective body side stripe!

This 1969 Ford Mustang SportsRoof is truly one of the most solid examples we have ever seen! Upon review of the body fitment, smooth chassis rails, spot welds visible everywhere, factory floors & body panels showing original date stampings, original ID tags, red oxide primer undercarriage, we simply had to have this one! Most recently from the Denton, TX area, we are confident this car spent nearly all its life in the dry, southern climate! Enhancing the performance for all of us driver enthusiasts is an Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum intake and Holley 600cfm performance carburetor with electric choke, long tube exhaust headers, Hurst shifter, 6-blade cooling fan, and hidden PerTronix HEI Ignitor II ignition with Flame Thrower II coil!

It showcases newly rebuilt suspension throughout, complete front end, fresh shocks at all four corners; new fuel delivery system with stainless steel gas tank, sending unit, and hard lines; all new brakes system with hard lines & hoses, and more! It represents a remarkable opportunity for Mustang enthusiasts looking for an original 351ci-4V power plant, right colors, and updates for modern enjoyment in all weather conditions! Act quickly and call with questions!
